Battery Discharged After Turning Off Battery Protect
Yesterday afternoon around 2 pm, I turned off battery protect on my S22 so it would slow charge to 100% off my computer USB as I had afternoon-evening plans. To my surprise, just after 4 pm, when I looked at the screen to check how much time before my bus was to arrive, the screen started dimming and got very dark and that's when I noticed it was down to 4%! The phone also felt hot. This was surprising and never happened before. I hope my battery isn't dying as I hope to get another year out of it before security updates stop and I have to trade in for an S27. I checked all the cable connections and they were tight. Luckily, I had a spare charger and cord with me at work, so I plugged it in for a few minutes, but was only able to charge up to around 6% before I had to run out the door and took the charger with me to charge it at the brewpub. I was able to use it for a couple minutes to find the exact bus stop location (as this was different from my normal route and stop), before the screen dimmed again to where I couldn't see anything on it like how far away my bus was. I was able to charge it back to 80% at the brew pub, and it seems fine now, but I haven't turned off battery protect again. The previous evening, I had also turned off battery protect less than an hour before I had to leave for a concert and was able to charge up to 92%.
