I know the new addition is basically Echoing Nighmares from diablo 3 but they had a specific purpose in that game and there wasn't any other wave activity at the time. In diablo 4 we have Infernal Hordes already so I'm confused as to how echoing hatred will be appreciably different. Also in general I don't get the obsession with wave activities in Diablo. I know everything boils down to killing demons but I'd much rather move through a map/location then stand around spinning in the same spot.

I feel like Nightmare Dungeons are still the most engaging activity in the game for this purpose. Do people really enjoy Infernal Hordes?
