Final piece mega help needed

So I've chosen the theme point of view, and I have my basic idea- a child's pov of a war and how they've manipulated it to cope, but I literally cannot for the life of me think of anything beyond that (I swear art gcse has destroyed all of my creativity).

Like i can't think of anything without things being too childish? I've looked at 2 realism artists (sophie pearson and margaret bowland) and 2 more childish ones (lauren child and quentin blake), also for my still life things I looked at toy soldiers/nerf guns.

I initially thought of having like a smoke cloud amongst the background, but within the cloud is the child's manipulated view? Like their own kiddish vision but what that exactly is I have no idea. And don't get me started on the background 😢

But I have 2 days... I just need anyone and everyones ideas rn
