Week 6 on cymbalta, thoughts and feelings
Tomorrow marks 6 weeks on 60mg cymbalta, after a 1 week cross taper off 20mg lexapro and starting on 30mg cymbalta the week prior.
Im struggling with sleep a bit more, waking up super early (average 5am, today was 3 30 am) even though I take it in the morning. Overall anxiety is a bit lower and its a bit easier to be mindful. Brain fog and the "wired and tired" feeling still occurs a lot. I will say I am coming from a couple years of weed addiction (quit in May 2025, was high daily in 2024) and lots of psych med turmoil through all of 2025, so its hard to pinpoint what uncomfortable feelings and symptoms are from this drug versus long term nervous system recovery. I know it is typically said to give something like this 8 weeks for full effect, though considering my long term stress and recovery state, I am thinking I may need even longer to reach a true stable state (assuming I can reach such a thing on this medication). Not sure if that is true or just me coping.
What are peoples thoughts? I have never taken an SNRI before this, but lots of SSRIs, and none of them really worked well... a part of me feels these medications are what is causing me this long term brain fog and mental instability. My primary diagnoses are OCD and ADHD.
