The many sides of next boot predictions for EP10
Tbh even with all the arguments that people make about Ally making it further than Benji, I see no good reason for her to actually outlast him. They've dropped way too many hints to really justify Benji leaving anytime soon (such as the idol theory: Benji's half has a more malicious and goofy face while Ally's half has a more panicked face). And also why give the idol to Benji, you know, the one who crafted a fake one and got made fun of for it? He's getting that idol.
They've been building up his arc since the beginning (it becomes more clear if you pay more attention to what he does or says) and it would be a shame if it all goes to waste just so Ally can have another long run. She really does not need another. Why give Ally 3 long runs while Benji could offer even more than her while feeling more unique? Bc even if Benji is sitting out of challenges, there's at least a story purpose for it to happen AND it's an idea that was never explored before. Plus the narrative does acknowledge that he's just not participating. And why is it Benji specifically sitting out and not characters like Fiore, Bruno, Lake, Rosa etc.? It all seems too specific no? If ONC hated Benji and only brought him back bc he was popular, they wouldn't give him this plot of sitting out of challenges (again, pretty original idea that never happened before), they wouldn't have him make it further than Alec OR Anastasia and wouldn't have the narrative acknowledge his lack of participation. It's very hard for me to buy the argument that ONC hates Benji when he was honestly one of the best written DC4 characters. He was relatable, had a unique personality and sense of humor and also very relatable flaws. And plus, when he did something stupid, the narrative called him out on it (telling Zaid that he had a dump truck for example), and when he did something good, he was rewarded (giving Zaid advice on how to confess to Ivy, leading to them becoming friends). His plots WERE left unsolved in DC4, but that's mostly bc he got eliminated due to Hannah not taking him seriously about Jade and Isabel (again, a very strong flaw of his), and the show did make it clear that he still has unfinished business that is gonna be solved in DC5. DC5 is a very good continuation of his DC4 counterpart.
Ik some people want Benji out bc he does "nothing" (quite the contrary), but I honestly feel like those people will want him out until it actually happens. I just feel it. I can't prove it, but I can see it happening.
