Want some insights!!

I recently had an EMG which was completely normal beside some fasciculations, but what can this be??

Symptoms:
Symmetrical weakness in arms/legs
Few muscle twitches everywhere
Dysphagia
Shortness of breath

Progression:
This has been going on slowly for almost a year.
It started with shortness of breath and neck weakness, shortly after I developed shoulder weakness and weakness in upper arms, then legs/thighs got weaker. Started getting fasciculations and dysphagia around 3 months after first symptoms.

What on earth can it beside ALS? If anyone has some clue on what this can be please write it down!!

Can ALS follow this pattern?

Progression in order:
Shortness of breath
Neck weakness
Both upper arms/shoulder weaken
Stomach/back weakness
Both thighs/legs weaken
Dysphagia
Started getting fasciculations all over - happens around 5-10 times an hour or maybe fewer

All this in the span of under 3 months

Can ALS be symmetrical and follow this pattern, and can you have ALS with twitching all over and so few of them?

Whats the difference between benign and ALS twitches?

Is it that ALS twitches are focal and are twitching frequently- all the time.

And benign twitches are everywhere and not as frequent?

Whats the difference between benign and ALS twitches?

Is it that benign twitches tend to be all over, not as frequently and ALS is more focal at onset and spreads and is way more frequent?

My twitches is spread all over and I maybe twitch 5-10 times an hour or maybe fewer.

What are the difference in twitches between ALS and BFS

I saw somewhere that Als twitches happens focal and happens all the time and spreads as other limbs get affected but that bfs or benign twitching happens everywhere and not as often.

How true is that and how does one tell the difference?

What can this be?

I will follow up with symptoms, progression and tests taken:

Symptoms:
Weakness
Fasciculations
Shortness of breath
Dysphagia

Progression:
It started early summer with shortness of breath followed by neck weakness. 1 month later both shoulders/upper arms started also getting weaker and a little later both thighs/legs was also getting weaker. In this period I also got more dysphagia and it was 3 months later from symptom start where I noticed muscle twitches all over. Now both hands are more stiff and my shoulders/neck are also stiff.
I also have pain in thighs/calfs/lower back as-well.

Tests taken:
ANA - negative
Ck, iron, TSH, cortisol, NfL all normal
Brain mri - normal
Vitamins, minerals, electrolytes all normal
Emg next week

If anyone has some advice or suggestions on what this could be let me know!!

Which types of MD progress fast?

What types of MD progresses rapidly? 19M in the diagnosis process (having an emg next week) and have a visit to a neurologist in two weeks. My progression have been quite fast. Shortness of breath, symmetrical proximal weakness and some distal weakness in calfs and forearms. I just want to know which types of MD that has a fast progression!!

If anyone has experiences with it or has some advice let me know, theres no wrong answers!

Can als start symmetrically? Did your symptoms begin on one side or both sides of the body at the same time?
