Hi everyone,

I’m early in my career with a background in Information Systems and currently working as a Sales Analyst. Most of my job is analyzing sales or usage data and turning it into insights. I mainly use Excel and Tableau, so it’s not very technical.

Lately I’ve been feeling like I’ve hit a ceiling and want to level up. I know a bit of SQL and Python, but not enough to really use them in my day to day work. I know AI tools can help with some of this, but I want to build a solid foundation first.

My company is willing to pay for a certificate, so cost isn’t a big concern. I care more about whether it’s actually worth my time and helps me get better at my job. I’m also planning to pursue a master’s in the future, so something that helps my resume would be a plus.

Here are the ones I’m considering:
- MIT xPRO Advanced Analytics / Data Science (I’m especially interested in this program or similar ones in other universities because the structure seems like it would keep me accountable and committed, but I’m worried it might be too difficult for someone at my level with limited technical experience)
- Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate
- IBM Data Analyst Professional Certificate
- Microsoft Power BI or Azure Data Analyst certification

Would any of these actually help me perform better in my current role, or are some of them overkill? If you were in my position, what would you pick and why?

Thanks!
