Tokyo Neopolitan style pizza at Pizza Marumo in Tokyo, Japan.
PJ: Clam Cream, smoked clams, smoked mozzarella, tomato, shimichi, and lemon. The clear favorite of the group. This was such a good combo that we ordered it twice.
Japanese Chili: Marinara base, Sakura Shrimp, Rice crackers, chili paste, roasted pine nuts, black Shinjuku, green onion, and Mitsuba. Really liked the added texture from the rice cracker but it could’ve been spicier tbh.
Red Hot Chili: margherita base, Nduja, Paprika, spicy salami and spiked perilla. The most traditional bunch and my second favorite. Loved the Nduja and Salami.
Wagyu Bismarck: Mozzarella,Pecorino, truffle paste, Wagyu pancetta and egg. Maybe too rich for my taste. The most forgettable one for me.
Loved the airy dough and char for each pizza. An awesome combination of Japanese ingredients in an Italian medium. Hopefully I can come again to try the Japanese Umami 😋😋😋
