I just finished my first full painting, and I am really proud of it — flaws and all. I started dabbling in watercolor about 2 years ago but have no art experience, so it has been really addicting exercising the creative area of my brain. I took the reference photo (last image) in September 2024 in Alaska. I started over about 20 times (at least) and have been working on this painting for almost a year. Bears are really special to me, so I wanted to do justice this beautiful bear (89 Backpack). I didn’t scan it, so it was difficult to capture good lighting so I included both flash versions. The paper version is a bit less dark. Feel free to comment with critiques. Thank you for looking. :)
