Hi all! I have the fortunate privilege of choosing Berkeley or UCLA for astrophysics, but I don’t have the ability to choose UCLA. I am unable to afford driving 6 hours to UCLA, or traveling on plane, since I come from a low income family. I’m devastated that I won’t be able to visit UCLA during Bruins Day, and I’m trying to cope with this by telling myself that Berkeley is the right decision, since it’s been my dream school since freshman year of HS.

For this, to all who plan to commit to UC Berkeley over UCLA, why Berkeley and not UCLA? What stands out about Berkeley that UCLA doesn’t have, whether it’s be your major or for social events?
