Today I learned my job at a local business and about 20 employees does not pay a dime over 39.99 hours/week. However, they pay your hourly wage in store credit. This goes for every employee including the manager. This week I was scheduled for about 50 hours before I learned. I ended up taking one day off this week, and plan to leave early on another day before I hit 40. What should I do? My boss told me about this and said it was completely optional to work past 40 hours, I just wouldn’t be getting any cash. Should I work past 40 and report it? Or should I just let it go?
