When I need food or drinks during my rides, the Karoo has the route, but to find something that's actually open right now i was always checking out my phone. That is kind of annoying because when biking to the place I needed to have my phone out.
So I ended up writing a karoo-ext extension that solves this for me. it adds nine data tiles to the ride profile page — restaurant, supermarket, cafe, hotel, doctor, pharmacy, bike shop, ATM. Each tile shows the nearest POI in that category with distance + name + the opening_hours. A tap on the tile and the karoo's pin activity opens so you can route to it or save it.
I only tested on karoo 3 so far. If anyone tries it on karoo 2 i'd genuinely love to know whether it works.
