Hello, I am finishing my single car garage, and trying to get ventilation sorted out before I dry wall. The room will be used as a workshop & gym.

It already has two vents at the bottom of the room as you can see (blue rectangles). I'm trying to figure out if I need to add an exhaust vent up high on either wall. I think it would be ideal, but maybe not necessary? I bought a low CFM exhaust fan I could install. If I do, it would be in either Option #1 or Option #2 location. Both have downsides:

Option #1 would be across from the intake vents which is best, but it will end up exhausting right into our walkway/courtyard.

Option #2 would be better as it's the side of hte house, but them I'm worried I"ll short circuit the air from the intake and I won't have room air changeover.

Anyone here have advice? Maybe I don't even need exhaust fan, and the two vents at the bottom are enough?

Any help/opinions would be appreciated.

PS The attic is already separately vented, so no need to worry there once I dry wall.

Edit: Location = Southern California
