I am planning a trip to Norway this summer, we are a sporty couple in our 20s so excited to do lots of hikes and walking around. I know its kinda late to be planning but we suddenly have time off work and we really want to see Norway. This is what I've planned so far:
- early flight (from Netherlands) to Bergen (1 night), rent car
- drive to Hardangerfjord (2 nights in Tyssedal), stop along the way, do trolltunga hike on the full day
- Originally I wanted to drive to Aurland and spend 3 nights there as a base (drive to hikes, go kayaking, take the Flåm train up and bike down) but since its so late to be planning almost everything is booked up and hotels in Flåm/Aurland area are close to €500/night. So now I'm thinking 2 nights at Stalheim hotel as its close enough to drive to Flåm or nearby hike areas, but the hotel only has 2 nights on our dates. So is there another little town close by worth seeing? Is it worth to drive up to Sogndalsfjøra for just one night?
- drive back to Bergen (1 night)
- take the train to Oslo to meet friends for a few nights.
What do you recommend for the middle 3 nights? Stalheim? Sogndalsfjøra? Somewhere else completely? Would love any suggestions, thank you!
