My neurologist will not diagnose me with IIH. It’s been a little over two years since my symptoms started—blurred vision, vertigo, light sensitivity, headaches, anxiety, brain fog, floaters, fainting spells, blackout vision, and extreme neck stiffness. I'm a 31-year-old woman who happens to be overweight. I had a lumbar puncture in 2024, and my opening pressure was 23. An MRI showed I have sinus venous stenosis and that I had high pressure at some point. I saw a neuro-optometrist in 2024 who said I had papilledema, but later changed the diagnosis to pseudopapilledema. I’ve been to physical therapy for my neck, but haven’t seen any improvements. I’m a mother of four young children, and it feels like I’m losing my mind. My family doesn’t understand what I’m going through, and they don’t seem to care. This is very scary. Please tell me how long it took you to get diagnosed? I really appreciate any help you can provide.
