ILR Approved on My Birthday🥳

I came to the UK in 2018 for my Computer Science bachelor’s and graduated during COVID in 2021. Finding a sponsored job as a fresh graduate during that time wasn’t easy. I ended up working for Company A for 4 years and 9 months.

Recently I got an offer from Company B. I know it sounds a bit silly to switch employers right before qualifying for ILR, but I took the risk because it felt like a great place to work (even though they didn’t cover my ILR).

I joined the new job one month before I became eligible, waited for payday, and applied the same day.

Getting the ILR on my birthday made it extra special.

Timeline:
- Application date: 30th April 2026 (priority)
- Biometrics date: 2nd May 2026 at 10 AM
- Approval date: 7th May 2026 at 11 AM (3 working days excluding bank holiday)

Some notes:
- My employer letter didn’t mention SOC code, so I just uploaded my CoS.
- I’ve used Covid Concession rule (SW 21.2) and used application date of first skilled worker visa as start date instead of BRP date.

Good luck to anyone applying for ILR 🤞

Hi, my girlfriend is planning to apply for the ILR next week using the standard service. I understand the application can take up to 6 months for approval. What happens if her share code included in her documents as part of 'Evidence of immigration status' expires before her ILR is approved? Share codes are only valid for 3 months upon generation.

Hi, I recently dealt with my uncle’s main email account being hacked. The attacker had basically locked everything down and masked the emails straight away, which made it really stressful trying to figure out what was going on. I ended up going through his entire Microsoft account step by step to track down where it had been compromised, and eventually managed to find the issue.

What happened was the hacker had set up their own Google Authenticator on his account and turned ON the 'passwordless account' option. My uncle mentioned he already had an authenticator set up with Microsoft, so I initially didn’t question it, but it turned out that was actually the hacker’s setup, not his. Because of that, they were able to access the account programmatically without needing the password.

Every email has the title:

>⚡ QuickMailChecker_bot — All-In-One Checker (Hotmail • MIX • Xbox) • Auto Login ⚡ SKY MARKET ALL-IN- ONE CHECKER

His account activity showed it had a world tour around Vietnam, Turkey, United States, Brazil, etc. They likely seem to be using the VPN.

There was a random calendar called Việt Nam ngày Lễ. I've removed it too.

I’m sharing this in case it helps someone else in the same situation. Make sure to turn OFF the passwordless account option and remove access to any app that you're not aware of.
