I just bought an old home in San Francisco and one of the many issues it has is that the siding on one of the sides is completely rotten and needs to be replaced. The plus side is that because our houses are so close together you can’t see what is happening over there, so I just want to replace it with the cheapest most durable option available - I don’t care what it looks like. I had a mold guy come out today (for another issue) and he said we should have flashing on the first 6 feet so maybe all metal?
