Uncharacterized Discharge 2025 - Got Updated Today

Just received a USCIS Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID) for my N-400 military naturalization application under INA 329.

The reason given was that my National Guard separation was “uncharacterized,” and USCIS says that under newer policy guidance, uncharacterized entry-level separations after Aug. 1, 2024 no longer count as “honorable service” for INA 328/329 military naturalization purposes.

What’s frustrating is that my application was already pending and suddenly this policy of eligibility has changed.

I was provided with one month of window to appeal any change or petition. Did anyone deal with similar situation? I do quality under N-400 eligibility, should I be waiting for a period of time before I can apply again?
