My husband is about to receive an inheritance check. We would like to use $30,000 of it to update our home. It was built in 1991 and many of the finishes are original. The home is 1400 square feet. We have no plans to move anytime soon, mostly because we will have it paid off by Christmas. Here are some projects we are considering:

1. Carpet in the bedrooms
2. New flooring in the rest of the house (cracked tiles everywhere but the living room; cheap LVP
   in there)
3. Original bathrooms x2
4. Windows
5. Sprinkler system
6. New countertops and backsplash (the cabinets are in good shape; we’ve updated all of the appliances.)

What is our best “bang for our buck?”
