Hi bee lovers,
For my graduation project, I’m making a strategic card game about the European honeybee. Instead of a standard board game, I’m focusing on real-world ecological challenges: from the fight against the Asian hornet to managing the Varroa mite.
In the game, players build colonies based on the actual hierarchy (Queen, Drone, Worker), but must constantly anticipate factors such as habitat loss and pesticides. I want to portray the beekeeper as the helper of biodiversity through specific action cards.
I’d love to tap into your expertise: which subtle details from beekeeping practice (think of the bee dance or the winter cluster) do you think would be perfect for a game mechanic that’s both educational and challenging?
