Different triptans for different migraines?

I get migraine without (lifelong) and with (last few years) aura. I'm on 50mg amitriptyline nightly and take 100mg sumatriptan for an attack. the sumatriptan always works on the non-aura migraines, and used to on aura migraines.

Over the last month or so, I've found that an aura migraine won't be put down by my usual 100mg sumatriptan and a nap. The pain will somewhat subside but I feel absolutely hideous all day, can't get out of bed. Yesterday I got one at 930am. I just got up at 8am the next day.

I'm going to discuss this with a doctor, but I wondered if anyone here could share their experiences using different triptans for different migraines.
