I recently took down my cypress fence and have a ton of 1x4 and 2x4 cypress. I'm in Florida so the heat, humidity and mold are a real concern.

My question is, if I wanted to install the the panels to the wall would it best to install some 1x1 strips and then the panels to those strips. Creating an area for the wood to breath some and some air exchange. Or just go straight onto the wall.

This is an outside covered and screened in porch and pretty well protected.
