Greetings Exiles,
We hear you - and we want to be upfront about what’s happening and why.
Migrating Conan Exiles from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5 is the biggest technical undertaking in the game’s eight-year history. Starting on Steam PC isn’t a choice we made lightly, and we know it’s frustrating for console players who may have been with us for many of those years. The honest reason is capacity: a simultaneous multi-platform launch at this scale would stretch the team too thin and risk a poor experience for everyone - and that’s not something we’re willing to risk for any of our players.
We also want to be clear: this upgrade is, and will remain, completely free. No paid edition, no ‘Definitive Version’ you have to rebuy. That commitment matters to us - but it also means we have to be disciplined about how we sequence the work.
Console players continue to have full access to the current version, including official servers, the Bazaar, and critical bug fixes. A console release hasn’t been ruled out - but before we commit to a path, we need to see how the upgrade lands and stabilize the experience on PC first.
We’re listening to your feedback. It’s shaping what comes next.
