For starters...yes, I am indeed indian 😂🤚
But this perhaps will be something deliberately desi on my part and set in modern-day India.
I do write...and even have an ongoing 130k-word fanfic, at the moment. But I have been mostly writing in the fandom spaces, anime/manga, and games circles.
But some desi original story ideas have been marinating in my head for a while, i do mostly want to write it because I think it is fun idea, but I also acknowledge it would be nice to have an audience that does read the work.
I've been browsing the #desi, #india, #indian, and #indiaromance tag....and a lot of it...from the surface seems to be dominated by "innocent girl" and a lot of Rathores and Rajvanshis, which I do find quite funny to be honest.
What I want to ask...if there is perhaps an audience for something niche?
something that is not 'innocent girl' or cold-hearted alpha male daddy?
I mostly just want to steer my expectations clear when it comes to the desi audience, if I do end up actually working on this, that is.
