Removing this component which is part of the 5v rail fixed my RTX3070. Can you guys explain? Card works great without it.
With that chip in place the Enable signal coming out of that chip into the 5v buck converter (the 8 pin controller next to it) was reading about 0.01v. Needless to say, every other rail was dead.
Voltage injection and thermal camera were misleading two unrelated mosfets lit up, then two more. Short continued. Then nothing. My friend say he just started removing crap then he removed the core then started pulling memory chips, bunch of capacitors and at some point decided to remove all the remaining driver mosfets and found the culprit.
I’m thinking just remove the brightest one first, then check for short if short persists replace the other one?
What do you guys think? Also there are more driver mosfet below/ above so the heat output doesn’t have anything to dot with the proximity. I’m just not very experienced don’t know if this is a common thing or not
I ran mods/mats testing, just the test that auto runs and it’s not finding any errors.
How should I proceed?
What are some commands that I can use here?
