I’ve been pretty active my whole life, my diet was always relatively healthy, I thought I just wasn’t trying hard enough to lose the stubborn fat and “cellulite”. and simply lacked discipline. my biggest realisation came when I started weight training and used a seated calf raise machine for the first time. the weight pressing into my thighs genuinely brought tears to my eyes, the pain was comparable to breaking a bone. my trainer was horrified, he’s never seen anyone be in this much pain from that machine. granted, I was already pretty strong and started with a heavier weight than complete newbies but it wouldn’t cause half that much pain on non-diseased tissue. I started researching lipedema treatments the same day.
