Sam’s 1st week “home”

Sammy has officially been “home” from the shelter for one week! he’s staying with a family member while he continues his kitty quarantine since he has calici— then he’ll finally get to meet his brothers!
he’s loving all the food and pets, his coat is feeling healthier, and his previous 4 burnt paws are healed and doing good!

recently posted a picture of our newest family member, Sammy—who currently is positive with calicivirus. He’s been in quarantine since he was brought to the shelter and will be in quarantine for 3 more weeks now that he’s home with us! I have another kitty at home who’s been exposed to the virus before but never tested positive. He did just get a FME due to stomatitis about a month ago and has had a rocky recovery. Anyways! When Sammy can finally be introduced to our other kitty (Scrat), does anyone have any advice on how to make our home the calmest environment for both of them to prevent flare-ups for both cats? I bought some Feliway diffusers that I will set up, and I’m starting both cats on a supplemental routine recommended by our vet. It’s simple, just L-lysine and Nature’s Immuno to keep both of them as healthy as possible! Both cats are also vaccinated; Scrat has had multiple boosters.

Another concern I have is that we have a 5-month-old puppy… He is very sweet and cautious of Scrat’s space (because Scrat has shown him who’s boss a few times LOL). We aren’t sure of Sammy’s background experience with dogs; however, he seems pretty chill. I just don’t want him to get totally stressed out and sick again if the puppy becomes a problem. We have a very small studio-like house with zero doors anywhere besides to outside. So basically, I’m just wondering if anyone has any advice/recommendations on stress prevention for cats! We are excited to get Sammy officially settled in in a few weeks.
