Hello! My 5yo green cheek laid an egg last night and I’m looking for advice on what to do, why this happened, and if she’s going to lay more eggs. I’m also terrified of her becoming egg bound. She seems to be doing okay and doesn’t appear to care about the egg even in the slightest. I’m already planning on getting her some calcium and fake eggs since I saw some things saying to do that. I have a male crimson belly as well; unsure of his age because he’s a rescue. They have been living in the same cage for the past 2 years without any issues. I was told they’re unlikely to try to mate since they’re different species and I have no nesting things in their cage. I haven’t noticed any mating behavior either. I try to have them covered 12-14 hrs a day. Including a picture of their cage in case there’s anything I should change. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!!
