Last month I turned 30 and i've always been a busy person. But lately I've started to notice things are starting to feel too much like a routine and I feel like time is passing quickly. I try to actively do activities where i break my routine, because it makes me feel like i have more control over my life, you could also call these sidequests.
so. on a sunday 2 months ago I came up with the idea of building an app for this. It's an app focused on logging your sidequests, or stuff that breaks your routine, and giving suggestions every day to help you.
Like:
- walk into [local nature reserve] until you've spotted 3 bird species
- write a 5-star review for a small business you love
Last week I launched the app in the appstore and did a post on my local subreddit (nijmegen, netherlands, 180k people), which got me 50 downloads on the first day. Not bad, for a small local town
There's a decent signal for this app - but i'm not sure which way to continue next.
I'd like to create a social platform where people can share and inspire eachother on quests they do or would like to do. Help people get the most out of their day-to-day.
so... do I lean into the local-curated angle, but doesn't scale beyond me hand-curating quests per city, or do I go global with friends + sharing and accept I'm in a much more crowded market?
I am mainly looking for (honest) feedback from users, about anything! UI, gamification, features, useability etc.
Happy to share the App Store link in the comments if anyone wants to have a look.
Feedback, or roasting, is more than welcome!
