Hey everyone, I’m a transfer student who got accepted to UCR Business Administration for Fall 2026, and I’m debating whether to attend. I’m trying to think long-term and choose the best path for a future career in product management, so I wanted to get advice from current students, alumni, or anyone familiar with the program.

Right now I’m stuck between choosing the Information Systems concentration or the Business Analytics concentration within Business Administration.

From what I’ve seen, Information Systems seems more focused on databases, systems design, tech/business processes, and project management, while Business Analytics seems more focused on data analysis, forecasting, and decision-making. Both seem valuable for PM, so I’m trying to figure out which one would be smarter.

Also, I currently have no tech background, but I do want to break into the tech/product space, so I’m not sure which path would be more beginner-friendly while still setting me up well.

A few questions:

- Which concentration do you think is better for someone aiming for product management?

- Does one concentration lead to better internships or job opportunities than the other?

- How strong is UCR’s business program overall when it comes to recruiting/networking?

- What has your experience been like as a Business Admin student at UCR?

- If you were a transfer student choosing now, would you pick UCR?

I’d really appreciate honest opinions, personal experiences, or anything you wish you knew before enrolling. Thanks 🙏
