My institution just switched to Epic 3/21 and we went live in about a year (apparently the fastest go live they’ve done). We still have 400+ tickets open in Willow (in reality it should be more but they’re cancelling a lot of them without making changes). We have one IT pharmacist. All of the orders are wrong. Everything is a mess. I feel so out of control, especially when it comes to reviewing micro on my patients.

Do any pharmacists, bonus if you’re an ID pharmacist, that do clinical consults have any recommendations on how to do micro review and AMS in Epic? A report? A list? I’ve tried the AMS activity but it’s just not feeling right. We also don’t know how to track new positive cultures because we’re only getting notifications in the Inbasket when they’re final. We’re not getting notified of bug-drug mismatches. Here is an example of how a culture would be reported in my old EHR, all reported by order in one long section of other orders that you could search through. I feel so inefficient and stupid. We’re stuck on Beacon mode and it’s making our summary tab weird.

Any tips or tricks will do but I really just want to find out the best way to get notified there is a positive culture or big drug mismatches, something like that.
