Over the last few months, I've had a massive uptick in the number of notifications from Google Maps/Waze telling me that there are police ahead which then turn out to be National Highways traffic officers.

Are people marking them on Google Maps/Waze thinking that traffic officers are the police? Is there some computer vision system that's erroneously flagging them?! Are the traffic officers marking themselves as police?!?!?!
