New to nails need advice

I’ve never really gotten a manicure I loved. I think it’s my fault for never going in knowing exactly what I want and then just saying yes to anything because I feel so out of my comfort zone. I haven’t been to a salon in years, but I’m trying to start feeling more put together again after a rough patch and want to start getting my nails done regularly. I have a gel extension appointment today and attached some inspiration photos of the style I’m going for.

I know these are pretty simple/basic styles, but I genuinely never know the correct terminology to ask for and would love any guidance or recommendations you have so there’s no confusion. I really love the soft glossy “your nails but better” look. My skin tone is similar to the photos. I also really like when the polish goes all the way down to the cuticle/nail bed without that visible gap so it looks super clean and natural. Any advice is greatly appreciated! I just really want to leave loving them this time 🥹

UPDATE: I just got out and really don’t love them. I have a trip this weekend so I schedule somewhere else and see if they can fix them? Currently googling Russian manicures near me. I showed her the pictures and told her what a couple of you suggested. Is it too soon to get them redone. I really don’t want to be stuck with these this weekend I’ll add photos to the comment below

UPDATE AGAIN: Thank you all for your advice! I really appreciate everyone taking the time to help me out. I found a place that does Russian manicures to remove what I currently have, and I’m going to make an appointment with them in a couple of days to try again. Hopefully it’ll turn out better, and I’m going to stay consistent with appointments so I can eventually get the look I want!
