New Mazda and battery died twice already, dealer charging 220 bucks

Dealer charging $220 diagnostic fee on a brand new car that won't start?

Just got a new Mazda and it won't unlock or start. Key fob beeps but nothing happens. The 12V battery was already replaced once and it's still doing it.

Called the dealer and they want to charge me a $220 diagnostic fee before even looking at it. They said they'll waive it "if they find something wrong."

A brand new car that won't start and already had a battery replaced seems like a pretty obvious warranty issue to me. Has anyone dealt with this before? Should I be calling Mazda corporate?

Should I take it to the dealer on Tuesday? That's when they have me scheduled. But I'd have to pay 220 bucks.

Any advice appreciated.

EDIT: Brand new 2 month old Mazda 3 Sedan 2026
Not the dealer I bought it from -- recently moved. 1k miles on the car
