Considering Grace would be considered a hero that went off to save the planet I have a headcanon that disproportionately large percentage of his former students went into various scientific fields to kinda "assist" their old teacher in saving Earth.

Like some went to engineer a coldproof insulation for habitation and agriculture, some went to work on genetically modified frost resistant crops ect.
