After walking the Camino Francis last year, I am hooked on an annual walk. Plan to walk the Cumbria in early October. The official website recommends carrying a compass and maps..I realize the Camino and Cumbria are two different experiences, but I’d like to believe that it will be a rare occurrence to require a compass. I will follow the advice and bring one anyway. My question is how likely is the need for a compass?
