Hi! I know this is a sourdough making sub but who better to ask this question to? If not I understand.

I bought this sourdough from a farmers market stall, we havent had time to eat it, I was going to dig into it today but it has this stuff on it? To me it looks like flour.. but I could be very wrong. Please help
