I’m a trans person with Crohn’s disease, currently in long-term remission, and I’m seriously considering starting HRT.

One of my biggest fears is that starting HRT could trigger a flare and force me to stop taking it after finally beginning something that feels really important to me. Crohn’s has already taken a lot from my life, and I’m scared of it interfering with this too.

I am planning to talk through this with my doctor, but I wanted to ask here as well: has anyone with Crohn’s (especially those in remission) started HRT? What was your experience like? Did it affect your symptoms at all?

I’d really appreciate hearing from others who’ve been in a similar position.

One of the largest barriers for me getting on HRT is my crohn's disease.

I'm currently in remission and have been for several years but I was wondering if anyone here has gotten into remission and then got on HRT?

I am terrified of getting on HRT and having to stop because of my crohn's. I don't want this stupid fu king disease to take any more from me.

I am talking to my doctor about it however I want some input from other trans people.
