How do you paint blood angels red armor?

I've watched videos using the traditional base, shade and highlights. And I've also watched videos for contrast paint methods.

The first picture is my recent attempt of baal red over slapchop (black with Grey and white drybrushing)

The second was based red, drybrushed yellow and then a wash of blood angels red with contrast medium 1:1.

I think its a skill diff when it comes to the contrast painting red because my Dark Angels come out really good in comparison to how im trying to paint blood angels.

I normally like the base, drybrush, and wash type of methods.

My Dark Angels is based white, washed red, contrast of dark angels green, dry brush moot green and then washed nuln oil to darken it back down.

Is there any painting recipe thats similar or close to that?

I'm trying to set up a recipe for my friend that just started blood angels and I would like a fairly fast/simple method that doesnt take much painting skill.
