Anyone else get a trochleoplasty? (Knee surgery)
Long story short, I have been dislocating my one knee all my life doing mundane things (as one does) and am starting to really get injured (this time walking down the stairs and tore up the knee and hip which also subluxed pretty bad).
Ortho recommended the trocheoplasty (creating new groove for patella to sit in) but mentioned it could cause other issues. He did say it would pretty solidly fix the dislocations. (Idk if he knows a thing about EDS so I take that with a grain of salt.)
Anyone have similar experiences? Anyone get the surgery? Are you on the fence? Any and all experiences/thoughts on your own situation welcome!
****Please note I am NOT asking for medical advice, just wanting to know if anyone else out there was recommended this surgery and if so what you decided to go with / what your surgical experiences were.
FWIW I may have hEDS / HSD but I also have problems with my veins and bleeding and haven’t been able to get proper genetic testing, so not really sure which type I fall under, but providers are pretty much in agreement that I have some sort of EDS.
