I’m currently working with Colombo on my I-140 filing and would appreciate a realistic assessment of my case.
In short, I only have a Bachelor’s degree that isn’t directly related to my current field, so I’m applying under exceptional ability rather than advanced degree. I’ve been working in a fairly specialized niche (time-critical logistics for aerospace/life science/supply chain) for 10 years and have spent the past 3 building and running my own business. I currently operate a U.S.-based company with aprox. $2.5M revenue and solid profitability (= high income for exceptional ability). In addition, I hold a few certifications (but no degrees in my field). I am a member of 2 more selective professional organizations, and have some general media coverage.
For the petition itself, I’ll be submitting 4 LOR (1 independent) and 2-3 LOI from U.S. companies. My proposed endeavor is to develop and scale a software-supported system for decision-making and execution in time-critical logistics workflows, with a focus on improving reliability, and response speed. This system is already partially in place in my own company and we actually have interest by bigger players in the U.S. logistics/transportation market to buy or use this system.
Compared to most researchers my case seems pretty weak, especially Prong 2 and the underlying exceptional ability qualification... Do you think I have a chance?
