Hi all- second year beekeeper in eastern Massachusetts. Just picked up a new nuc and installed today- the nuc was overflowing with bees. Saw larva, capped brood, and spotted our beautiful queen!

I did notice what looked like a half-made/awkward single queen cup on 2 of the 5 nuc frames. They certainly weren’t completed capped queen cups. I’m guessing these are just play cups? Is that common with a nuc, or should I be worried about them prepping to take off?

I was planning on leaving the girls alone to get settled in their new hive- is there anything I should be keeping an eye on in the event these were not play cups?
