Bringing Attention to Indiscriminate Suspensions

tl;dr: please like, reply, or quote this post with “me too!“ Get your voice heard on this indiscriminate suspension nonsense. Getting enough attention might prompt the platform to fix this problem.

I recently posted on here about how the suspension was lifted from @FullSelfDog, but it was suspended again. Then it was unsuspended. Then yesterday it was suspended again. All for the same “inauthentic“ non-reason. Here’s the good news: my community over there noticed, and a lot of them are pissed off.

This is an opportunity for us to make some noise. My hope is that we can create enough of a network effect that it gets noticed by high-profile accounts (like Musk) and that we can get some action taken.

I want more than just my own account to get rescued. I want everyone who’s been wrongly suspended by the account to be let back on.

tl;dr: Twitter sucks. Nikita sucks. Come over to Bluesky. Tell all your friends. File a credit card dispute and file complaints with the BBB and FTC (if you bought Premium).

This is for all of you who, like me, got banned for being “inauthentic” (whatever that means). And let’s not call it a suspension. We were banned. The letter we got even warns us:

“If you attempt to evade a suspension by creating new accounts, we will suspend your new accounts.”

Without recourse to a fair and reasonable appeal, that means permanently. Guess what? The appeals process is a sham. Chances are you got a denial (assuming you got a response at all). Of those who got let back in, lots were unceremoniously banned again.

Don’t waste your effort. Ditch Twitter.

Why not? Do we all have Stockholm Syndrome? Why keep trying to recover our suspended “inauthentic” accounts? Nikita Bier has openly mocked and ridiculed people for complaining about unfair suspensions. He doesn’t want us to be there. He doesn’t care. Why should we?

If you paid for Premium, dispute the charges with your credit card company. That’s the only way you can materially affect Twitter. If enough of us do this (I have, and I got over $400 back), credit card processors will eventually take action. While you’re at it, file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Federal Trade Commission. They’ve been receptive in my experience. Take back your money, then take your business elsewhere.

If you take a glance at my content, you’ll see I’m a huge fan of Tesla and think Musk and his companies are doing incredible, visionary work. But Twitter? It’s a mess. Whatever the reason or cause, this “free speech” platform bans more speech than any other. 🖕

It’s time to let it go.
