We are in the process of buying a 1960s house with Artex ceilings (and very thick paint on some walls that looks like it could contain Artex). We want to get the house rewired when we move in.

Has anyone any experience of doing this and how do you handle the rewire without disturbing the Artex? We would be looking to get a plasterer to skim over a couple of the ceilings and all of the possibly Artex walls.
