Though the video ranks Lucas and Max above Mike and El, their reasoning is understandable, as it is based on everything. This includes where the couples are at the end of the series.
That said, their take on Mike and El is very good and very positive. They talk about El's background in the lab and how she was only rewarded with love and affection when she did what Papa wanted her to do. They also talked about how Hopper was kind of similar to that, but with different motives, as he wanted to protect El. Mike, on the other hand, was the only one who gave her safety and a sense of belonging, according to them. So she could be who she wanted to be with Mike.
