Hi all!
I’m hoping to apply this round and am definitely a bit behind. I am really struggling to figure out who I should ask for letters of rec! For some background I graduated in 2021 as a Psychology major & Bio minor. I then went on to work as an EMT for a year, before volunteering in the Peace Corps for 2.5 years. I just got back to the U.S. a few months ago and have been working at my old EMT job and taking classes while I get ready to prepare. My supervisor from the Peace Corps would definitely write me a letter that could speak to my work ethic, but my volunteer work was focused on education. I do have a couple professors I could ask for lor from undergrad, but at this point that was five years ago. I’ve taken a a couple classes each semester since I graduated at the community college but I haven’t formed a strong relationship with any of the professors. I have supervisors at work ( a large private ems company) that I’m sure would write me a letter. And then I’ve also done a few days shadowing a doctor in a local ED, he offered to write me a letter but I’ve really not spent that much time with him. Who would you recommend I get letters from??
TL;DR: who should I ask for LOR: professors from undergrad 5+ years ago, EMS supervisor, Peace Corps supervisor (in education field), ED doctor I shadowed a few times (who already offered) or professor at community college I’m currently taking a class with.
I know it’s very late to still be debating this but I appreciate your input!
