Swim buoy size?

I’m looking for an open water swim buoy and see they come in many sizes, 15L to 30L. What size are you using and why. Obviously the bigger sizes will offer more buoyancy if I need help during a swim but seem like the bigger sizes will be more of an intrusion during my swim. Thank you!

When to have a rest day?

I had a hard brick training session yesterday. 15mile bike ride (with a PR for 15miles!) and a 2 mile run. My legs were suffering and run was slow. My training plan was for a bit less effort on the bike but a brick workout. I am supposed to swim today and I want to do it but worried about over training. I could do a rest day today or tomorrow. I’ve been doing lots of Z2/3 training since the first of the year but just getting into my 8 week Sprint training plan which has lots of higher intensity workouts. Im 54 and trading for my first Tri. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Apple Watch thinks im doing butterfly stroke.

I had a good swim today. For the first time I could follow a complete work out with warm up, 300m free, 3 x 100 free and 5 x 50 free with specified rests. My stroke is feeling much better and I feel like I am getting good rotation and more consistent catch. I am also completing catch past hips. I was pulling my hands backward through the water so I have been working on completing my catch past hips. My Apple Watch recorded several lengths as butterfly. I assume this says something about my recovery but I’m not sure what, maybe too wide. Has anyone else seen this?

I’m in Fort Wayne for work and can’t find a place to do laps. The YMCA does not do day passes. I don’t see any other gyms with pools and the hotel pools are so small. Anyone have a recommendation?
