Men with wavy hair who got permanent straightening - how did it go?

Looking for male perspectives on permanent hair straightening treatments (Japanese straightening / thermal reconditioning / Brazilian blowout, the actual permanent kind, not the temporary one).

My hair is slightly wavy, about 4 inches long on top, when pulled down, it reaches somewhere between my eyes and my nose. The problem is simple: I can't just wake up and go. My hair dries overnight in every direction and the only way to reset it is to wet it, blow dry it, and style it. That's 10-15 minutes gone every morning just to look normal. I'm over it.

No flat iron, no daily products, I just want a low maintenance morning routine.

Anyone here done it? Especially curious about the male experience since most posts I find are from women. How did it hold up, any regrets, what would you do differently?
