Hi everyone,
I’m a prospective UBC DMD applicant and I have a question about the worst academic year drop policy.
The policy says the worst academic year (Sept–Aug) can be dropped if it has “24+ UBC equivalent credits” (and isn’t the most recent year).
I have exactly 24 UBC-equivalent credits in one academic year, in which I failed 3 courses (the rest were passed). This was due to extreme extenuating circumstances. I previously asked admissions about withdrawn (W) courses and they said W’s do not count toward the 24+. I have emailed admissions, however they take a while to reply.
My question is: do failed courses (which still show with their full credit value on the transcript via the BC Transfer Guide) count toward the 24+ threshold, or do only successfully completed/passed credits count? Thanks!
