E-OCI New Policy 2026
I was in the process of applying for a new OCI card and had a few questions regarding the recent rule changes.
Has anyone submitted an OCI application after May 1? Is the process now fully online, or do applicants still need to submit documents through VFS?
Additionally, have there been any changes to the document requirements, or do they remain the same as before? For example, if a marriage certificate was issued outside India, is an apostilled copy still required?
I am also trying to understand whether the new E-OCI system has only been announced at this stage, with implementation still pending, meaning applicants must continue following the existing VFS submission process and guidelines for now.
I would appreciate any clarification or recent experiences you can share.
